Though spikes are essentially objects to keep unwanted things away, this artwork does exactly the contrary, it invites the viewer to touch it.
 
Most spikes are usually painfulful, yet these are rather comforting to the touch, almost like a massage to your hands.
 
This work displays how certain painful things can become pleasureable in a different context.
