This piece is inspired by The Church of Light designed by Tadao Ando

The extreme contrast between light and darkness has always drawn me to this iconic building

The purpose of this building has given its resonance another layer of meaning, as the church is a historic symbol for community

This piece is about questioning the importance of community for an artist:

How much is the value of art defined by its admirers?
Does the size of their community define an artists’ power?

These questions will continue to shape into different answers as I will continue to make variations on this piece
